Purchase Prize Winners
2007 Winners Selected at Portside Arts Fair
The work of four artists were deemed to be the most outstanding by judge Cinda WR Schantz at the 45th Annual Portside Arts Fair held on Saturday, August 4, in East Jordan. Receiving the purchase prize awards were woodworker, Don Doezema of Lowell; oil painter, Elizabeth I. For the first time in Portside’s history, a mother and daughter were chosen as purchase prize winners. The selected 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional purchased art will be displayed in the Cygred Riley Gallery at Elm Pointe. Purchase awards were supported through the generosity of Charlevoix State Bank and East Jordan Plastics.
In addition to the purchase prize awards, Ms. Schantz also presented honorable mention ribbons to the following artists: jeweler, Deborah Barnes of Florida; weavers, Bob and Nancy Beagle of Florida; pencil artist, Al Jensen of Ann Arbor; metal worker, William Morris of Grand Rapids and digital artist, Troy Parker of Texas.
